Early 2009, Jeremy Habegger made the leap from his hometown Nantes in France, to Cocoa Beach, Florida. His savings dried up in one year because there were no jobs du to the housing crisis. “I was broke, but it was unthinkable to sell my instruments. I still own them today! In France, I played piano and organ in many original bands, some blues, some funk and some jazz, but had to play 80’s covers in a wedding band to pay the bills.” He finally realized that being a musician was hard enough a path that he should at least be able to play music that he thought had integrity. “That’s why today I play on Frenchmen Street and not on Bourbon Street.” When asked “Why did you move to New Orleans?”, he answers “Gravitation! I’m not from here, but this is where I feel at home.”

With the Crescent City at heart, Jeremy eventually became a tour guide after graduating from the New Orleans Professional Tour Guiding class at Delgado, “I wanted to know more about this city. New Orleans has such a fascinating history. I feel very fortunate that I was well mentored by experienced local tour guides. What better way to share the knowledge of this great city than to give a New Orleans history tour with an emphasis on jazz!"
